On Monday 16th November 2015 I attended an evening devoted to music and readings from Shakespeare in Middle Temple Hall, a venue which had witnessed a performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night more than 400 years earlier.

In order to sustain the memory of that evening I prepared four short papers:

2. Shakespeare and justice: the first part of the evening.
3. Shakespeare and civil rights: the second part of the evening.
4. Shakespeare and legal language: the third part of the evening.
